Monitor children's online activity

Give proper time to the children and establish such a relationship that will benefit them and you will not have a chance to regret it. Alauddin was driving his Suzuki pick-up van to Tutano Bandai in the Kabal district of Swat.  They didn't say goodbye to their 17-year-old son Hamidullah before leaving because they thought he might be sleeping, but Hamidullah stayed up all night and went to inspect the roof of his new house under construction in the morning. After 3 hours of driving, Alauddin's phone rang.  His cousin on the phone asked him to come to the hospital immediately.  Alauddin thought that something had happened to his nephew Azmat Ali. While turning the van, they tried to contact other family members on the phone to find out what had happened.  But no reply was received from anyone.  Finally, he called Hamidullah but Azmat Ali picked up the phone instead.  Amid anxiety, Alauddin asked where is Hamidullah?

On that day, my world was ruined', Alauddin was narrating the tragedy while sitting in his small house in the Qila Gayi area of the Kabal district. Hamidullah, a class 11 student, was the popular Tik Toker of his city with 50,000 followers.  On May 8, 2021, Hamidullah and his cousins had planned to go on a picnic. Hamidullah's cousin Azmat Ali told EOS that all the boys were cooking for a picnic 30 feet away from Hamidullah when they suddenly heard a gunshot.  When they ran to Hamidullah, they saw blood on his leg.  Later they found his head also covered in blood. The boys carried him on their shoulders to the road where they asked the driver of the tourist van to drop him at the hospital.  It took 3 hours to reach the hospital as the road from Qila Gayi to Saidu Sharif is rough and winding.

His nephew said that Hamidullah had shot himself.  The family has taken him to the hospital.  In a state of shock, Alauddin rushed in his van to Saydu Sharif's hospital in Mingora.  But by the time they reached the emergency room, it was time to receive their son's body. Another cousin of Hamidullah, Liaqat Ali, says that Hamidullah picked up the pistol from the luggage of a tourist belonging to Lower Dir. Police officers told the media after the incident that 'Hamidullah was pretending to commit suicide by holding a pistol full of bullets. Hamidullah was killed on the spot due to accidental firing. Quality is an area that connects Lower Dir with the Swat district. Sher Bahadur, Alauddin's cousin, says that most of the men of Qali Gayi leave their families and go abroad in search of employment, such as in Dubai or Saudi Arabia.

Talking to EOS, Alauddin said 'I raised my son by working full-time in Saudi Arabia away from home. I fulfilled his every wish and recently I took a loan of Rs 10 lakh to build a new house for my family. But after his death I have stopped the construction work because now my life has become pointless', he took a deep breath. The goal of home workers is obviously to provide for their families and give their children a better future. Children request their fathers abroad to bring gifts. Sons demand electronics, mobile phones, and motorcycles. Away from their families, these people leave no stone unturned to fulfill such demands. Sher Bahadur says in a sad tone that 'sometimes their gifts become a cause of destruction instead of enjoyment. The increasing use of mobile phones among teenagers and the subsequent use of social media applications such as Tik Tok sometimes turn a pastime activity into a life-threatening one. The desire of some young users to increase their followers on these applications can lead them to a dangerous addiction. To gain more followers, they try to do risky things to impress other users, and due to the lack of proper monitoring of children's online activities, many parents like Aladdin have their children permanently banned. are lost

Sher Bahadur says that he has found most of the youth in Qali Gaya addicted to using mobile phones and instead of doing school work, they spend many hours of the day on mobile phones. The government banned TikTok on July 21 due to 'inappropriate content, but youngsters are still accessing TikTok through virtual private networks, or VPNs, that circumvent the restrictions. However, Sneak Video, a Pakistani video-sharing application similar to Tik Tok, has no restrictions and its popularity among the youth is also increasing. A month after Hamidullah's death, 14-year-old Shaukat Ali, a resident of Karam Bagh, was killed in an accidental firing incident. According to local police in Swat-Kabul, Shaukat Ali was showing his friend how Hamidullah had shot himself. When he pulled the trigger, the bullet hit him in the head. On the other hand, Dr. Sara Naqvi advises parents to exercise their responsibility wisely. "People cannot keep their children away from technology and the internet because they need it for learning and other purposes," she says. One of the main reasons for this social problem is the lack of family support, proper attention, and care. He says, 'Nowadays household members spend most of their time on mobile phones. It should be that parents give time to their children not only as adults but also as friends.'She advises parents to 'give time to children and build a relationship that benefits them and gives you no regrets.
